Bobb To Compete In World U20 Championships

Caitlyn Bobb will be traveling to Nairobi, Kenya later this month in order to compete in the World Athletics U20 Championships.

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda National Athletics Association [BNAA] is pleased to advise that Caitlyn Bobb will be traveling to Nairobi, Kenya to compete in the World Athletics U20 Championships. As she resides in the US, she will be traveling from the US to Nairobi this coming Saturday, August 14th, arriving in Nairobi on Sunday, August 15th.

“The competition begins August 17th and completes August 22nd at the Nyayo Sports Complex.

“Caitlyn will be participating in the 400m, where she met the qualifying standard of 54.85. She ran 53.64 at the Bermuda National Championships held on July 10th; she had previously met the standard, but lowered her time. Caitlyn’s personal best is 52.79, which she ran in June 2019.

“Her mother, Dawnette Bobb [Douglas] will be traveling with her as team manager/coach. There will be strict COVID guidelines that all persons attending will have to follow and there will be no spectators in attendance.

“Caitlyn will be competing in the first round heats of the 400m on August 18th at 9:00am, hoping to go on to the semi-finals on August 19th at 16:45 and the finals on August 20th at 17:20.

“We look forward to Caitlyn competing and wish her much success.”
