Photos & Video: Crystal Symphony In Bermuda
[Updated with photos] The Crystal Symphony cruise ship arrived in Bermuda this morning [Aug 26] sailing into Dockyard, marking one of the first ‘non homeporting’ cruises the island has welcomed since the pandemic began.
The Government previously said, “The Crystal Symphony will make 13 calls commencing August 25 [arriving Bermuda] from Boston for four calls and New York for nine calls, with an early estimate of 300 passengers for the first call, growing to approximately 600 passengers per call.”
The company previously said, “Crystal Symphony will re-deploy to sail from U.S. homeports in Boston and New York for its new Luxury Bermuda Escapes, a series of seven-night voyages to Bermuda beginning in August.
Update: The live video replay is below [as a note it is not very interesting, just shows the ship sitting there]
“The first four voyages will depart round-trip from Flynn Cruiseport Boston beginning on August 22, 2021, featuring Sunday-to-Sunday itineraries, followed by nine voyages set to depart round-trip from New York’s Manhattan Cruise Terminal beginning on September 24, 2021, featuring Friday-to-Friday itineraries.
“When Crystal Symphony sets sail in August with reduced capacity, all guests and crew will be vaccinated as a requirement of the company’s Crystal Clean+ protocols, a set of measures established in response to Covid-19. Additionally, Crystal’s guests and crew will follow all local health guidelines and protocols when visiting Bermuda.”
Minister of Transport Lawrence Scott previously said, “I wish to thank the team at the Ministry of Health who has worked diligently with us to create a framework and response plan to restart the cruising industry safely. Each ship will operate under a US CDC Conditional Sail Order and Bermuda’s Quarantine [Covid-19] [No.3] Order 2020.
“All passengers must be 12 years of age or older and be fully immunised. Passengers will Covid-19 test three times within six days before landing in Bermuda. This includes a pre-departure PCR test, an Antigen test at the cruise ship terminal in the USA before boarding the ship, and an on arrival PCR nasopharyngeal test in Bermuda. All passengers, and crew, will apply for a Bermuda Travel Authorization [TA], and passengers may only board the ship with an approved Bermuda TA.
“Passengers testing negative on arrival can enjoy all of Bermuda while following mitigating measures, such as wearing a mask indoors in public spaces, physical distancing, and frequent hand washing.”
