Oil Tanker Diverts Due To Sick Crew Member
A crude oil tanker — traveling from the USA to India — diverted to Bermuda as a Turkish crew member required medical assistance.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “Sunday 15th August, 1:43pm – Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre was notified by Meyers Ship Agents, that the Maltese Registered 81,466grt Crude Oil Tanker Zeynep was diverting to Bermuda with a Turkish crew member who required medical assistance suffering from lower abdominal pain.
“The fully laden vessel was on passage from Galveston in the US, bound for Sikka in India, gave an ETA at the Deep Draft Position for Monday 16th August 4pm, the vessel subsequently arrived and transferred the patient safely to the Pilot/Rescue Boat St George and was transferred to King Edward VII Memorial.”
