Francesca Gino To Address BILTIR Conference
Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers [BILTIR] has announced that Professor Francesca Gino of Harvard Business School will be the keynote speaker at their 2021 annual conference.
A spokesperson said, “Professor Gino is an expert on the psychology of organisations and author of Rebel Talent: Why it Pays to Break the Rules in Work and Life. She notes that while rebels have a bad reputation and defy the status quo, they are “masters of innovation and reinvention, and cultivating the rebel talent inside of us allows businesses to evolve and to prosper”.
“The conference on September 23 will be opened by the Minister of Finance, The Hon. Curtis L. Dickinson, JP, MP. The conference includes a panel discussion by EY on lessons learned from 2020 Covid and future views on macroeconomics and interest rates. Panellists include Clark Jeffries [Somerset Re], Juan Mazzini [Global Atlantic Financial Group], and Jeffrey Jacobs [Apollo Insurance Solutions Group].
“Aon will be hosting a panel on capital, sidecars, securitization, financial strength ratings, and asset-intensive life reinsurance companies in Bermuda. RGAX, the innovation accelerator of RGA, one of the world’s largest life reinsurance companies, is hosting a session on managing disruption through structured innovation.”
“BILTIR’s annual conference has gone from strength to strength due to the global interest in Bermuda’s innovative and growing life and annuities sector,” said conference organiser Scott Selkirk, a BILTIR Board member and Chief Underwriting Officer at Somerset Re. “
We are delighted to have attracted such a high calibre line-up of speakers and panellists for an event which will offer some fascinating insights into issues currently faced by the global life reinsurance industry.”
BILTIR represents 63 long-term insurance, reinsurance and servicing companies in Bermuda who provide life and annuity products and employ more than 600 people on the island. The event will be held virtually for the second year running due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. To register, click here.
