Free Golf Coaching On Flora Duffy Day
The Port Royal Golf Developmental Program, headed by Kim Swan, will be offering free golf coaching on Flora Duffy Day on October 18.
A spokesperson said, “In recognition of the achievement of a lifetime by Flora Duffy at the Tokyo Olympics, Port Royal Developmental Golf Program with golf coach Kim Swan is dedicating the entire day on the driving range to offer free golf evaluation in honour of this monumental feat by Flora Duffy, who won Bermuda’s first Olympic gold medal.
“The evaluation/lessons will be a Safekey event and will by appointment only by contacting Kim Swan directly to reserve a time.
“Persons can sign up in pairs and current golfers will receive a video analysis sent to them by WhatsApp, while new golfers will be given a whirlwind introduction to the fundamentals of the game and the opportunity to hit a few golf shots.”
Teaching golf professional Kim Swan said, “The perseverance and persistence shown by Flora Duffy throughout the years is the type of example required in all sporting disciplines.
“As we pause to celebrate the day, as a professional athlete myself, I felt it my duty to pay homage to her achievements.
“As we are currently celebrating our 50th year at Port Royal, this recognition goes hand in hand with the excellence Port Royal Golf Course also represents.”
