“Every 10-years, RUBiS conducts an internal inspection of the underground Liquified Petroleum Gas storage tanks. The purpose of this flaring is to ensure that all propane vapours are removed to permit the inspection team to safely conduct their works.

“RUBiS wish to allay any public concerns and advises that whilst this flame may give the appearance of being close to other petroleum equipment, the flare is situated near to the northern shoreline of Ferry Reach.
“RUBiS also wish to assure the public that this flaring operations is conducted as per the standard operating procedures for flaring operations, and in compliance with international safety standards.
“As there are three underground LPG storage tanks, RUBiS will need to repeat the flaring operations in both approximately 2-weeks’ time, and 4-weeks’ time.
“RUBiS has notified the appropriate emergency response services & governmental agencies. We will of course, provide updates as and when they become available.”
