Madelyn Moore Wins Four Events In Colorado
Bermuda’s Madelyn Moore — who competes for the University of Northern Colorado — had an outstanding showing at the CMU Intermountain Shootout swim meet, winning four events.
The University’s report said, “Northern Colorado Swim and Dive is off and running in 2021. After the first day of the CMU Intermountain Shootout, the Bears own leads over eight of the nine schools in the nine-way duel meet.
“Head coach Lisa Ebeling’s crew kicked off the shootout with a resounding win in the 200 free relay. The quartet of Ali Jackson, Katelyn Bergin, Payten Irwin and Madelyn Moore hit the wall .11 seconds ahead of in-state rival Colorado State with a time of 1:35.79.
“If anybody had intentions of beating Madelyn Moore in the 50 free, they would’ve thought wrong. The Bermuda native outraced everyone in Grand Junction for a 23.35.
“Northern Colorado nearly swept the 50 fly. Madelyn Moore continued her dominance in the sprints, winning her third race of the evening with a 25.20. Doris Pusztay wasn’t far behind, hitting the wall at 25.82, while Irwin dialed up another impressive swim with a 25.92.
“Capping off the night, Northern Colorado made sure to leave no doubt in the 400 medley relay. Bergin, van der Westhuizen, Irwin and Moore combined for a 3:49.19 to end the evening with another UNC win.”
Congratulations, Madelyn!
