BNAA Cross Country Season To Get Underway

November 3, 2021

The Bermuda National Athletics Association’s Cross Country season will get underway on Saturday, November 6th at the Arboretum, hosted by the Bermuda Pacers Track Club.

“Covid-19 Emergency Powers [Phased Re-Opening] Regulations 2021 requirement are in effect,” a spokesperson said.

“This means that this is a SafeKey event for all athletes, officials, and spectators. In other words, all athletes, officials, and spectators must present a valid safe key. The only exemption is for athletes who are not vaccine eligible [under 12].

“The Return to Sports Guidance requires antigen or lateral flow testing for all athletes and officials. Even fully immunized persons must have a negative antigen or lateral flow test before competing.

“A testing tent will be set up, and a test must be completed prior to number collection. That test takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The test station will open at 7:30 am. The 1st race is scheduled to begin at 8:30 am.

“Each race is treated as a single event and no more than 30 competitors will be allowed to enter in each race.”
