Bowlers Head To Super Championships In Dubai

Bermuda’s National Men’s Bowling Team headed to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates to compete in the International Bowling Federation Super World Bowling Championships, which will also serve as qualification for next year’s World Cup.

The tournament runs from November 6th – 16th, 2021.

The Bermuda team of David Maycock, Lamar Richardson, Damien Matthews, Dennis Joell, and Steven Riley will be up against the best bowlers in the world from over 50 countries, they will be joined by national team coach Fero Williams.

The team will compete in Men’s Singles, Doubles, Trios, and the prestigious team event. Each event will consist of 10 qualifying games to determine the round of 32 where they will enter match play to determine the top 16, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals to determine who wins Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

The round of 16 onwards will be played under the baker format, with the top 8 countries total team points won will determine who qualifies for next year’s World Cup.

The Bermuda Bowlers will be looking to improve on their 12th place finish in last month’s Pan American Championships.
