Governor Rena Lalgie Purchases First Poppy
Governor Rena Lalgie purchased the first poppy of 2021 from two of Bermuda’s war veterans, Mrs Isobel Flood and Rev Canon Thomas Nisbett.
Government House posted the photo below online, saying, “Her Excellency the Governor was pleased to support the Bermuda Legion’s annual Poppy Day appeal by purchasing the first poppy of 2021 from two of Bermuda’s war Veterans, Mrs Isobel Flood [Royal Canadian Air Force Women’s Division] and Rev Canon Thomas Nisbett OBE [Bermuda Militia Infantry].
“Today, Wednesday 10 November, is Poppy Appeal 2021 Tag Day and the Governor encourages everyone to purchase a poppy as the funds raised will be used to provide welfare and advocacy for Bermuda’s World War 2 veterans and their widows.”
