“Also in attendance was the Minister of Social Development and Seniors, Tinee Furbert, who championed the signing as a ‘fitting way’ to kick off International Disability Week [Nov. 29 – Dec. 3].”

Minister Peets said, “I’m pleased to partner with the Bermuda Special Olympics in raising awareness of the importance of supporting our athletes with disabilities.

“In signing the Declaration, I join other Sports Ministers throughout the Caribbean on ensuring the full inclusion of athletes with intellectual disabilities in all aspects of the community. This is especially significant as it unifies and solidifies our support of these very special individuals when they participate in international sporting competitions.”
