Ministry Provides Update On Custodian Overtime
The Ministry of Education provided an update on the status of our Bermuda Public School Custodians, saying that “custodians reported to their working locations, and there was no further interruption to normal service.”
The Minister of Education Diallo Rabain shared, “Yesterday a meeting was held with our Custodians and Mr. Arnold Smith, B.I.U Custodian Representative, to discuss the matter of outstanding overtime payments due to a recent change in how overtime requests are approved.”
“Based on the meeting, outstanding overtime payments, inclusive of all back pay, will be made this week. Custodians will continue to be paid a week in arrears for overtime worked.”
Minister Rabain concluded, “I can confirm that our custodians reported to their working locations, and there was no further interruption to normal service.”
Aren’t we the lucky little taxpayers?
