BF&M Donates Towards Covid Tests For Charities
BF&M Limited has donated $10,000 to the Bermuda Community Foundation to fund a Covid-19 testing regime for Bermuda-registered charities and non-profit organisations delivering front-line services.
A spokesperson said, “While some non-profits have been able to garner support through existing relationships or from the corporate sector, many have not. These groups are dependent on collective funding partners for access to health management supplies.
“BF&M answered the request from the BCF, who discovered that about 11,000 lateral flow [antigen] tests were needed per month by over 30 service providers for their employees, volunteers and service recipients.
Dr Myra Virgil, Managing Director of the Foundation, commented: “Needs far exceed the Bermuda Foundation’s grantmaking budget and we can’t fund it alone.
“Coordinating such a large ask of the public also exceeds our current resource capacities. Thus we approached businesses to assist, and we are grateful for BF&M’s contribution to this effort. By pooling gifts such as BF&M’s, we can make a collective impact.”
