December 7, 2021

The Bermuda Boys Brigade and the Church Girls’ Brigade recently held their annual Car Wash & Christmas Sale, raising a total of $3,500 for the Family Centre BELCO Hardship Fund.

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Boys’ Brigade & the Church Girls’ Brigade members, leaders and parents worked very hard and made their annual Car Wash & Christmas Sale on Saturday, December 4, 2021 a huge success!

“The young people washed cars and there were fresh baked goods, a Christmas sale with a variety of gifts and decorations and delicious refreshments inside the hall to enjoy.

“The St. Paul’s Church family and friends always support the Brigades with their ongoing commitment to support Bermuda’s families in need at this special time of year.

“As a result of the effort of both Brigades, $3,500 was deposited into the Family Centre BELCO Hardship Fund this week. This gift will enable the Family Centre to provide some relief to their clients.”

The Family Centre’s Executive Director Dr Sandy De Silva thanked the Brigaders, saying, “Every year their donation goes towards keeping the lights on for families who are struggling to meet their basic needs.”

The spokesperson said, “The Brigades’ next Car Wash will be at our annual Valentine’s Fair on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 9 am – 4 pm at St. Paul’s Church car park in Paget.

“The Church Girls’ Brigade [joy@logic.bm] meet on Thursday evenings and the Bermuda Boys’ Brigade [bermudaboysbrigade@gmail.com] on Friday evenings in the Christian Education Centre. The Chaplain for both Brigades is The Revd Canon Anthony D. Pettit.”
