The Minister of Health Kim Wilson reiterated, “As I have said before, we cannot become complacent. We must continue to be extra vigilant to protect ourselves and our loved ones from this fast spreading virus. Our health and safety depends on being vaccinated and getting your booster, wearing masks, physical distancing, proper ventilation and good hand hygiene. An important reminder, for those who are 65 and over – you don’t need an appointment to get a booster. Anyone 65 and over can simply walk in to Pier Six on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week to receive a booster.

“The coronavirus thrives on human contact, and as we head into the holiday season, we must continue to follow public health guidance. Please do your part to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. Avoid the three “Cs”: closed spaces, crowded places, and close contact settings to decrease the odds of getting the coronavirus. Continue to wear a mask, practice good hand hygiene and maintain physical distance.”

“The Minister of Health will hold a coronavirus media briefing tomorrow afternoon [December 21], to provide the public with a further update. The media/public will be advised of a time accordingly.

Seventy-one [71%] of the new cases are classified as imported with a history of travel in the previous 14 days

I will bet you a million bucks that 69% of the new cases are vaccinated, people.

Unvaccinated people & Vaccinate people should quarantine for 10 days Period…

    • SandgrownAn says:

You’re not very good, are you, at statistical analysis.

    • Otrwele says:

Correct. Other countries like Thailand have some Sense! They still quarantine vaccinated persons for obvious reasons the rest of the so called modem world choose to ignore. They are the only ones traveling in and out of this country. So what happened to tighten measure at the border. Now we have a new variant in the country bought herr and that’s not anyone’s fault. But they still need to quarantine!

  2. Joe Bloggs says:

“The 152 active cases is an increase of 90 since the previous test result release on December 16th, and the daily positive cases announced today are the highest daily positives since early October.”

It’s a shame no one could have predicted this. Wait a minute …

  3. question says:

For some reason they’re too busy to tell us Sunday’s and Monday’s results.

  4. Think Outside The Box says:

” Active cases by vaccination status, transmission, and type:

Imported cases: 91% are fully vaccinated and 9% are not fully vaccinated
Local/Under Investigation cases: 88% are fully vaccinated and 13% are not fully vaccinated

“Seventy-one [71] of the new cases are classified as imported with history of travel in the previous 14 days”

Sooooo at what point are we going to ACCEPT that having the vaccine means NOTHING and protect the country by being sensible and having proper restrictions for EVERYONE?!!!??!!?!?!?! ‘History of travel within 14 days’ means they came back and got their Day 1 negative and took their COVID to other members of the public for possibly an additional 8-9 days… I’ll be waiting for the next 100+ results to come back today.

Bunch of idiots running this country man. Do something other than curfew. Make sense of the decisions you are making. Think with your brain people – just because it’s easy doesn’t make it right. Everyone needs to be held accountable. They want us to continue doing the right thing then the Government needs to DO THE RIGHT THING!

Increase the restrictions for vaccinated persons for travel and for safekey. They are the ones infecting the island. Not the unvaccinated because… SPOILER ALERT – unvaccinated persons are VERY restricted for travel. SMT. dumbness.
