December 1, 2021

Pres David Burgess Bermuda Dec 1 2021The Kiwanis Club of St George’s have elected a new leadership team that will guide the club for the coming year.

A spokesperson said, “The Kiwanis Club of St George’s, that intrepid group of volunteers whose aim is to serve the children of the world, have elected and installed the new leadership team that will guide the club for the coming year.

“The club held its formal Installation Ceremony at Somers Gardens, in St George. A fitting location since it gave the club a connection to the founder of Bermuda – Sir George Somers – who is ceremoniously buried at the site.

“Heading the new Executive and Board of Directors is David Burgess [pictured], who is also a Past Lieutenant Governor for the Kiwanis Clubs in Bermuda.

“Serving as Vice President is Keina Rollins, while Vincent John holds the post of Treasurer, and another Past Lieutenant Governor, Scarlett Pottinger, is the Secretary.

“It is a policy with Kiwanis Clubs worldwide that the out-going President serves for an additional year on the Board of Directors so as to lend support to his/her successor. Hence, outgoing President Daron Lowe serves as the Immediate Past President.

“Rounding out the Board of Directors for Kiwanis St George are Altama Burgess [a Past Lieutenant Governor], Corrine Simons-Fiocca, Craig Outerbridge, and Marshallene Robinson.

“For all Kiwanis Clubs the new Officers and Directors officially take office on October 1 each year, and this transition is not affected by the holding of the formal installation ceremony.”
