MOvember Raises Over $35K For Men’s Health
Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre raised more than $35,000 for men’s health during its 2021 MOvember Bermuda campaign.
A spokesperson said, “Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre is pleased to announce our 2021 MOvember Bermuda fundraising award winners. This year we had a total of 22 participants, consisting of both individuals and teams, register for our annual men’s health fundraising initiative.
“Collectively these amazing fundraisers have raised over $35,000 in just over one month, far exceeding our $20,000 fundraising goal. We are so grateful for their efforts and for everyone who sponsored them!

“Our top fundraiser spots were neck-and-neck this year with lots of healthy competition in both the individual and team categories. The fundraising awards are as follows:
- The Mo Mo is awarded each year to the individual who raises the most amount of money. The winner in this category is Mr. Brendan Kemp who raised over $1,890. Second place goes to Dr. Gordon Kooiman and third place Mr. Jonathan Carter.
- The Mo Sister is awarded each year to the woman who raises the most amount of money during MOvember – and this year Ms. Jennifer Lightbourne was our only registered Mo Sister!
- The Team Mo is awarded team who raises the most amount of money and does not fit one of the Challenge categories. Our 2021 winner is DHL Express! DHL is a first time participant and raised $1,010.

“Our Financial Services and Sportsman challenge categories were also very exciting this year with the return of many teams and the addition of new teams.
“In our Financial Services category, KPMG and Deloitte battled it out once again for the top spot with KPMG ultimately taking the win. They raised over $7,000 with Deloitte coming in a close second place. Third place for the Financial Services challenge this year is team Orbis.

“For the first year in the history of MOvember Bermuda, our Sportsman Challenge had multiple competitors. Three teams registered under this category and we loved seeing the camaraderie among them as they battled it out for the top spot. Taking the win again this year as the top Sportsman was BRCC MOvember Ride, who hosted a round the island cycle event and raised over $3,800.
“First time participants Team TNT Athletics and Team Hindssight finished second and third respectively. We look forward to seeing these fantastic groups compete again next year.

“As always, Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre is extremely thankful for all of our MOvember Bermuda 2021 participants for their time and efforts fundraising for men’s health awareness. All of the money raised during MOvember supports our men’s health programmes in prevention, early detection and treatment.
“Through generous donations and fundraising events such as this it is possible for our Centre to continue providing clinical services through our Equal Access Fund to those who might otherwise not be able to afford care.”
