Bermuda Is Love ‘HealthIsWealth’ Campaign

Bermuda Is Love is set to kick off the #HealthIsWealth Campaign this February, advocating for healthcare rights and promoting healthy lifestyles among the public.

A spokesperson said, “The right to healthcare is the principle that all individuals have a fundamental right to receive medical care and services that promote and maintain their physical and mental wellbeing. It upholds that individuals should have access to a comprehensive range of medical services, including preventive care, treatment for illnesses and injuries, maternal and child healthcare, mental health services, palliative care, etc.

“A lack of healthcare can be severe and far-reaching, affecting individuals, families, communities, and societies in numerous ways including, poor health outcomes, reduced quality of life, financial hardship, decreased productivity and economic impact, increased healthcare disparities, public health challenges, and has social and emotional health impacts.

“Bermuda Is Love believes that everyone has the right to enjoy the highest attainable standard of health and wellbeing, and that healthcare should be affordable and accessible to all individuals, regardless of their financial means or social status.

“In addition, it is our responsibility as Bermudian citizens to improve Bermuda’s healthcare system by promoting and leading healthier lifestyles. By adopting healthier behaviours and lifestyles, we can contribute to better health outcomes, reduce the burden of chronic diseases, and alleviate the current strain on healthcare resources and reduce healthcare costs in Bermuda.

“As part of the #HealthIsWealth Campaign, we have organized a number of events where individuals can get active and practice healthy lifestyles, as well as learn more about how we can advocate for the right to healthcare and ensure that everyone has access to the healthcare they need for their physical and mental wellbeing.
