January 16, 2022

The suspension of the JetBlue “flights is limited to the 22/23 winter season” and “both Boston and New York flight routes will resume in spring/summer 2023, as in prior years,” the BTA said today, adding that “the routes will be suspended from November 2022, and are fully expected to return in April 2023.”

The BTA said, “JetBlue confirmed their commitment to serving the Bermuda route with the announcement that the suspension of flights is limited to the 22/23 winter season.

“Both Boston and New York flight routes will resume in spring/summer 2023, as in prior years. The routes will be suspended from November 2022, and are fully expected to return in April 2023.”

“I know there has been a lot of confusion around the island after JetBlue announced upcoming service reductions,” said Charles Jeffers II, CEO of the Bermuda Tourism Authority.

“I wanted to clarify that in fact, Jet Blue will continue their seasonal flights in 2023 from Boston and New York. Our tourism industry counts on the support of our airline partners, and we could not be happier to continue our relationship with JetBlue – a boost much needed by the island.

“We at the Bermuda Tourism Authority are committed to working with partners and stakeholders to boost the industry and bring our tourism numbers back to pre-pandemic levels, and with that the airlift needed to make that happen.”

On a related note, Skyport releases the flight schedule monthly, so you can look out for that each month – it is always posted on Bernews – and you can view the January schedule here.

Ummmm…does somebody have their years mixed up?

Somehow I don’t think that JB has made any announcement about the 2022-2023 winter schedule.

Is this what the head of the BTA gets paid the big bucks for? Can’t get the years straight.

I don’t believe a word that man says….there’s definitely challenges but I think the BTA as a whole has failed to do their jobs in the pandemic, why aren’t we marketing like crazy or offering tourist package deals they can’t refuse! This current government and all its branches are dropping the ball left and right!
