Covid: CDC Moves Bermuda Back To Level 4

January 20, 2022

The United States CDC has now moved Bermuda back to “Level 4: Very High Level of Covid-19 in Bermuda” — the highest level — saying that people should “avoid travel to Bermuda.”

It further notes that “if you must travel to Bermuda, make sure you are fully vaccinated before travel” and “because of the current situation in Bermuda, even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading Covid-19 variants.”

“Travelers should follow recommendations or requirements in Bermuda, including wearing a mask and staying 6 feet apart from others,” the CDC adds.

The CDC has four levels of rankings plus one for ‘unknown’, and there are currently around 100 nations and territories classified as Level 4.

The island has been ranked as ‘Level 4′ before — the last time was in September 2021 — and the new ranking comes as active cases have increased to a record high 1953.

  1. One who escaped says:

With all the precautions the government is taking? I’m shocked! … NOT

  2. Joe Bloggs says:

Just as we have hit a record high number of infected people in Bermuda but we feel so safe we have removed the night-time curfew!

    • Yup says:

Yes thank God! No need for curfew dummy! No one was getting infected by going out to a restaurant in their bubble and having dinner and drinks! And no one is going to come to Bermuda to visit only to be told they cant go outside after midnight! Think about it before you make such a moronic statement! Our lives need to get back to normal and we need to support those in the restaurant and bar industry which then drives imports and taxes! Get it dummy?

      • Joe Bloggs says:

“Our lives need to get back to normal”

Tell that to the families of the people who have died from COVID-19. That would be 112 families in Bermuda and in excess of 5.5 million families world-wide.

        • Nature says:

Survival of the fittest and smartest is all this is! Sorry for loss but nature selects based on survival capability and this virus is just another survival vector that humans must navigate. It will be with us (and its variants) for a long time to come but we must adapt and overcome and live! Get rid of the restrictions and let nature do what it must!

  3. Whatever says:

Move on.. We are bored now!

  4. Sick of it All says:

Very weird! We have been spiking before the Holidays and now with more and more people recovering, the spike is not as sharp. So now, out of the blue, we are at level 4? I would say the CDC is behind and slow on the draw. This is not the first time. I still haven’t got Covid. Big deal. Another blow for a disintegrated Bermuda.

Bermuda is f**ked for one reason only, and that’s the continued reelection of the PLP by its people.
