Court: Trial Date Set For DeSilva, Harper, Caldwell

A Supreme Court trial date has been set in the matter involving an MP and the dinner party at Blu in 2020.

MP Zane DeSilva, his daughter Zara Harper and Angela Cardwell of the MEF restaurant group are charged in connection with allegedly misleading a public official to obtain a Covid-19 exemption letter for a dinner.

The offense is alleged to have happened in July 2020. Mr DeSilva was a Cabinet Minister at the time, and stepped down shortly after.

They appeared in Court via Zoom, Jerome Lynch QC represented Mr DeSilva and Ms Harper, and Acting Supreme Court Justice Juan Wolffe set a  trial date for August 15, 2022.
