Tennis: 2022 MTM Singles Championships Finals
The 2022 MTM Singles Championships continued at the Fairmont Southampton Tennis Courts, with three of the finals needing a third set to decide a winner.
Tariq Simons won the A Division after he battled Gavin Manders in a three setter. Simons went down in the first set 6-3, but he bounced back to win the second set by the same score, and the third and final set saw Simons win 6-2.
Ben Lines won the Elite B Division Final in three sets over Sebastian Pukke, Pukke won the first set 6-3, Lines won the second set 6-3, and the third set saw Lines win 10-5.
Tobiah Goodchild won the third final needing three sets as he claimed the B Division title defeating Robert Richardson, Richardson won the first set 6-2, before Goodchild won the second set 6-2 and the third set tie-breaker 10-2.
Pukke did not leave the courts empty handed as he took on Jadon Spriggs in the Christmas Bowl Under 14 Final and defeated him in straight sets 6-0, 6-1.
