Athletes Compete In Outdoor Track Meets

Four Bermuda athletes took to the track to represent their schools, with Johndell Cumberbatch representing Morehouse College, Diara James Powell-Burgess represented Clayton State, Caitlyn Bobb represented the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and Sakari Famous represented McNeese.

Cumberbatch clocked a personal best time of 1:58.83 to finish seventh in the men’s 800m. He also finished 16th in the men’s 1500m, clocking a time of 4:10.08. Cumberbatch was a member of the Morehouse College men’s 4x400m relay team that finished 16th with a time of 3:34.69.

Powell-Burgess clocked a time of 11.46 on his way to finishing seventh in the men’s 100m dash. He finished 31st competing in the men’s 400m, clocking a time of 53.00.

Caitlyn Bobb competed in the Weems Baskin Invitational. She clocked a time of 24.73 on her way to finishing 14th in the women’s 200m dash, then finishing fifth during the women’s 400m dash by clocking a time of 55.68. Bobb was a member of the UMBC women’s 4x400m relay team that finished sixth with a time of 3:54.07.

Sakari Famous represented McNeese Track and Field at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at the University of Texas in Austin.

Famous placed fourth in the women’s high jump section B group with a mark of 1.77m, ranking number two all-time in school history.
