Carrick Undefeated As Western Ontario Win

Taylor Carrick and his Western University Men’s Squash teammates captured their 38th consecutive Championship during the 2022 Ontario University Athletics [OUA] Squash Championships in Canada.

Having to play four matches in one day, Carrick and his teammates ran through the tournament with a record of 26-2.

Carrick was undefeated in his four matches not losing a game recording a score of 132 – 58.

Carrick and his teammates took on Waterloo in their opener and won 7 – 0, Carrick playing in the number 4 Singles spot defeated Raziq Kassam 3 – 0 in 17 minutes, 11-4, 11-5, 11-9.

Western would then defeat Guelph 7 – 0 in their second match, this time Carrick would play in the number 3 Singles spot and he would take on Noah Dommasch, after 19 minutes Carrick picked up a 3 – 0 win 11-5, 11-6, 11-6.

Western battled the Toronto Varsity Blues and came from behind to pick up a 5-2 victory, which put them in a position to win the event outright. Carrick was in the number 4 Singles Spot, with his team down 2 – 1, Carrick leveled the match defeating Jonathan Fan 3 – 0, it took him 18 minutes to win 11-6, 11-4, 11-3.

Carrick and Western then defeated Queens 7 – 0 to lift the Trophy. Carrick once again playing in the number 4 spot defeated Duncan Genge 3 – 0 in a 16 minute battle 11-3, 11-2, 11-5.
