Corporation To File Application To Privy Council
The Corporation of Hamilton has confirmed that they will file an application for the matter — the Municipal Reform Bill – to be heard in the Privy Council” in the UK.
A spokesperson said, “The Council has met and determined that, under the guidance of our legal Counsel, we will file an application for the matter to be heard in the Privy Council.
“We’ve received opinions from several QCs on the matter, all supporting our action. We will use every legal option at our disposal to protect our democratically elected system, as we have been mandated to do.
“The Corporation has a legacy of success when it comes to running Hamilton’s affairs and we stand firm with our position.”
