IAC: Healing Centered Engagement Certification
The Inter Agency Committee for Children, Families, and the Community [IAC] has opened registration for its second Healing Centered Engagement Certification.
A spokesperson said, “This certification will help youth workers and education explore ways that they can enhance their thoughts and behaviours to more effectively reach and impact the youth they serve. The 9-week certification includes self-paced online learning and live virtual cohort sessions. It runs from May 16th through July 19th, 2022.
“Healing Centered Engagement [HCE] was the keynote focus of IAC’s 2020 Compassionate Care Conference, featuring Dr. Shawn Ginwright. The certification will support service providers to advance ways to supporting youth, and in particular young people of color and includes the critical focus of the healing and wellness of the service providers.
“The certification provides t is a non-clinical, strengths-based approach that advances a holistic view of healing and gives service providers concrete actions that answer not just the “why” but also the “how” to create the best environment for impacting youth. Last year’s participants reported having obtained enhanced knowledge of ways to support youth of color as a result of attending this training. One participant stated, “The programme was designed in a very helpful way, so that it was easy to incorporate in my daily work”.
“The certification is sponsored by SiriusPoint allowing the cost of the certification to be 80% subsidized for IAC members. The cost for members is $160 for members.
