Sick Crew Member, Tanker Diverts To Bermuda

An oil tanker — traveling from New Orleans to Denmark — diverted to Bermuda as a crew member required urgent medical attention.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre received notification from local ships agents Meyers, advising that the Cayman Island registered 64,321grt oil tanker M/V Dali was proceeding to Bermuda to transfer a crew member suffering from a medical condition that required urgent attention at a local hospital facility.

“The vessel was on passage from New Orleans, USA bound for Skagen, Denmark. Arriving offshore in Bermuda wters on Tuesday 19th April at 06:30am, the 41-year-old Filipino Crew Member was safely transferred to Ordnance Island by the Pilot/Rescue Boat St George, and subsequently taken by ambulance to KEMH for medical treatment.”
