Aspen: Signatory To UN Sustainable Insurance
The United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative [UNEP FI] has confirmed Aspen‘s status as a signatory to the Principles of Sustainable Insurance [PSI].
A spokesperson said, “For the past two years, a key part of our ESG strategy has been actively participating in the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and now, we’ve extended this commitment as a PSI signatory.
“The UNEP FI aligns with our underwriting philosophy of practicing responsible insurance in support of creating a more sustainable society, and it will help guide us on placing both purpose and resilience next to profit when considering corporate responsibility.
“As a PSI signatory company, we will embed the UNEP FI’s four principles across our value chain, partner with key stakeholders to raise awareness of ESG issues and demonstrate accountability and transparency in the measurement of our success.”
Aspen CEO & Chairman, Mark Cloutier, said: “In 2020, Aspen confirmed its support of the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact by joining this initiative and engaging in collaborative projects that put these principles into action.
“Today, we extend that commitment by becoming a signatory of the UNEP FI Principles for Sustainable Insurance and will be making these principles an integral part of our ESG strategy, our culture and day-to-day operations.
“We look forward to partnering with the UNEP and other signatories, who are equally dedicated and are taking responsible business action to create a more sustainable world.”
