Minister of National Security Michael Weeks and Permanent Secretary Chris Farrow visited several departments across the Bermuda Police Service.

The police posted the images below online, and said, “Thursday 28th April 2022, Minister of National Security Mr. Michael Weeks, JP MP and the Permanent Secretary Mr. Chris Farrow visited several departments across the Bermuda Police Service [BPS], to meet the team and listen to some of their concerns.

“The visit also gave the Minister and the PS the opportunity to see first-hand what goes on behind the scenes in the BPS. Minister Weeks and PS Farrow took the opportunity to attend a Watch briefing with Central Uniform Patrol, before they were given a guided tour by Superintendent James Howard, which included, CID, the Custody Suite, COMOPS, CCTV and the Fleet Garage.”

Supt. Howard said, “This was definitely an opportunity for the Minister of National Security to speak with the operational officers who police with the community to keep us safe. The officers were candid with their questions to the Minister which he appreciated. The Minister actually sat in on a ‘Watch Briefing’. He ensured the officers knew how important their role is and that their dedication and professionalism was truly appreciated. He has promised to visit again, as there were other departments that he would like to see, however time was not on his side today.”
