Nikki Bascome will face Waseem El Sinawi at The Shed in Dockyard next Saturday [June 25], with the Canadian drafted in to replace Kevin Hylton.
Hylton was initially scheduled to meet Bascome in the island’s West End on May 28; however, the bout was postponed the day before the fight after the Jamaican missed his connecting flight to Bermuda.
Promotor Epic Entertainment wrote on Instagram today: “After facing visa delays with Bascome’s Jamaican opponent [Hylton], Waseem was the natural choice.”
El Sinawi was due to take on Bascome on January 29 but tested positive for Covid-19 during the build-up to the fight and was replaced by compatriot Dylan Rushton.
With a record of two wins and three defeats, El Sinawi has not fought since being knocked out by Jamaican Devon Moncriffe in Kingston in June 2018.
