Woman Injured In Collision On Middle Road
A 72 year-old woman has been taken to hospital after a collision on Middle Road in Southampton this afternoon [June 6], the police have confirmed.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 3:50pm on Monday 6th June 2022, police and other first responders were dispatched to a report of a two vehicle collision on Middle Road, near the junction with Peppercorn Lane in Southampton.
“Initial reports suggest that a 72-year-old woman was traveling west along Middle Road when she lost control of her vehicle and crossed into the east bound lane, striking a residential wall. As a result, the wall collapsed with debris falling onto another car which was traveling east.
“The woman was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries, the extent of which is not known at this time.
“Police are currently on scene diverting traffic, using a single lane system. Traffic delays should be expected. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes, until the vehicles and major debris have been cleared from the road.”
