Bermudians Help Coppermine Win UWS Division
The Coppermine United team claimed the 2022 Mid Atlantic UWS-1 Conference Championship after defeating Lancaster Inferno, with both the Bermudian players — Leilanni Nesbeth and Nia Christopher — playing a key role.
In reporting on this weekend’s 2-0 victory, the club said, “The second goal came from a quick counter with Leilanni Nesbeth finding Nia Christopher between the defenders who beat them with pace and place the ball around the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.”
Both Nesbeth and Christopher have scored in past games for the the team, which plays in the pro-am United Women’s Soccer League which takes place over the summer, and by winning their division the team will now advance to the play offs.
