Goodchild & Pettit Continue At JITIC Tournament
Tobiah Goodchild and Tristan Pettit continued competing in the Under 14 JITIC 2022 Tournament at the Cancún Tennis Complex in Mexico.
Goodchild lost to Miguel Angel Quinones of Puerto Rico in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
Pettit got his first victory over José Andres Mendoza of Honduras in a championship tie breaker. Mendoza won the first set 6-4, but Pettit leveled the match at 1 – 1 when he won the second set 7-5; Pettit then won the match 10-4.
Pettit won a second match in another war against Dilan Alvarez of Honduras, winning 7-5, 3-6, 10-4. Pettit’s opponent had a big serve and forehand but got too careless at times, which allowed Pettit opportunities.
