July 22nd: Public Forum On Offshore Wind

July 13, 2022 | 0 Comments

Greenrock will host a public forum on Friday, July 22nd from 12.00pm to 2.00pm at BUEI to ”discuss the research we have recently commissioned on the feasibility of offshore wind in Bermuda.”

A spokesperson said, “Greenrock is working hard to produce the industry standard data required to accelerate the deployment of affordable renewable energy, and because offshore wind and solar have consistently been identified as the most mature renewable energy technologies, we recognize just how important it is for us to determine how these technologies can help us provide the sustainable, low carbon energy system our island needs.

“If you are interested in learning more about this initiative please RSVP for our open forum next Friday featuring Director Chris Worboys and the UK based Offshore Wind Experts we have commissioned from BVG Associates.

“The goal of the forum is to discuss the data from the study that has been completed, present initial results from the second study exploring the cost of energy from offshore wind, answer questions about the project, explain how this research initiative can be used to accelerate renewable energy deployment in Bermuda, and share information about the funding required to complete the studies that have been planned in a timely fashion.

Click here to read the statement we released recently along with the first study titled Key Publications Review and Priority Actions. Thank you in advance for your interest. We welcome your support and look forward to working with you to accelerate the deployment of affordable renewable energy in Bermuda.”
