Crew Member Sick, Tanker Diverts To Bermuda
A tanker — traveling from Texas to the UK — diverted to Bermuda as a crew member needed medical care.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “Wednesday 27th July, 9:34 pm – Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre received a telephone call from a local shipping agent advising that the large tanker Aligote was diverting to Bermuda while on passage from Corpus Christi, Texas to Pembroke. U.K in order to medically disembark a crewmember.
“The ship arrived offshore on Thursday Morning and the Patient was able to transfer to the Pilot Boat St David without the use of a stretcher and was then taken onwards to hospital by ambulance.”
