Covid: 45 Positive, 52 Active, 6 In Hospital

The Ministry received 3,007 test results — spanning 7 days — and 45 were positive, so there are now 52 known active cases, of which 6 people are in hospital.

A Government spokesperson said, “Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 3007 test results, and 45 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 1%.

“These results are from testing done on:

  • Tuesday: 20 positive out of 726 results [2.8% positivity]
  • Wednesday: 2 positive out of 430 results [0.5% positivity]
  • Thursday: 1 positive out of 380 results [0.3% positivity]
  • Friday: 4 positive out of 454 results [0.9% positivity]
  • Saturday: 7 positive out of 239 results [2.9% positivity]
  • Sunday: 6 positive out of 440 results [1.4% positivity]
  • Monday: 5 positive out of 338 results [1.5% positivity]

“25 of the new cases are classified as imported.

“The additional 20 new cases are classified as either local transmission [6] or under investigation [14].

“Additionally, there were 62 recoveries and 0 deaths.

“There are 52 active cases, of which:

  • 46 are under public health monitoring; and
  • 6 are in hospital, with 0 in intensive care.

“Since March 2020, Bermuda has recorded 18,122 coronavirus cases, out of which 17,922 have recovered, and sadly there have been 148 coronavirus-related deaths.

  • 27are Imported
  • 6 are classified as local transmission
  • 19 are Under Investigation

“The source of all confirmed cases is as follows:

  • 4072 are Imported
  • 13,977 are classified as local transmission of which:
    • 5932 are Local transmission with known contact/source and
    • 8045 are Local transmission with an unknown contact/source
  • 73 are Under Investigation

“As investigations proceed, transmission categories may change. For age distributions and overall transmission categories, please refer to https://www.gov.bm/coronavirus-covid19-update. The seven-day average of our real-time reproduction number is 0.48.

“The Ministry of Health is pleased to announce that the Hamilton Health Centre on Victoria Street has relocated its services temporarily to the 3rd Floor, Reid Hall, 3 Reid Street, Hamilton. All services are by appointment only.”

Minister of Health Kim Wilson said: “As the Hamilton Health Centre undergoes repairs, the Department of Health has relocated some teams and services to better service our clients.”

The spokesperson said, “Oral Health is available at the Hamilton Health Centre on Victoria Street and can be reached for an appointment at 278-6440.

    Dim Wilson’s role has now ended. The TAF has now ended. Please let Bermuda get back to normal and let visitors, cruise ships etc in and get Bermuda working again. These restrictions on visitors and emergency powers requiring residents to ask to travel are the work of a Dictator and need to stop.

    Why is Bermuda listed with 22 of the worst regimes in the world, when we should be leading?
