Myah V Surprised By On-Stage Proposal

Bermudian singer-songwriter Myah Ballentine was stunned when her boyfriend proposed to her on stage after her first headline concert last week.
Ms Ballentine, known by her stage name Myah V, had finished playing to a sell-out crowd at the Grog Shop, an iconic venue in Cleveland, Ohio, when her boyfriend, DJ Bank Shaq, got down on one knee and popped the question.
“So, the show was amazing,” Ms Ballentine told Bernews. “We sold out! My boyfriend proposed to me afterwards in the most thoughtful romantic way – with violinists, fireworks and more.”
The former Bermuda High School for Girls student added: “It was a pleasure showing everyone what I can do and representing Bermuda.”
The 22-year-old, who was the opening act for Shenseea, the Jamaican dancehall artist, at a recent pre-Cup Match show at the National Sports Centre, only started recording music in October last year.
Since releasing her first single, Mean It, Ms Ballentine’s career has soared, with her debut album, Human, following in June, including a song dedicated to her four-year-old twin daughters, Karter and Karsyn, called Letter to KK.
The Cleveland-based artist also runs a business, Mama Leche LLC, a lactation-producing bakery that helps breastfeeding mothers produce breastmilk.
