Roadways ‘Have Been Given The All Clear’

September 9, 2022

Bus service began at 9.00am today [Sept 9], with the Blue, Green and Pink ferry routes beginning set to begin service at 1.00pm and the roadways “have been given the all clear.”

Minister of National Security Michael Weeks said, “I hope that all of Bermuda fared safe and well. Following the passage of Hurricane Earl, our Emergency Measures Organisation [EMO] utility and work crews have done their assessments. As it relates to our roadways, they have been given the all clear.

“Commuters and motorists can move about the island, however I encourage extreme caution as you travel on our roadways. Teams have also surveyed the bus routes to ensure safety before resuming public bus service. We expect that the bus service will start shortly.

“Government buildings have also been assessed. They have been deemed safe also and public services will be operating as normal. We will provide additional official updates as the morning progresses.”

In a subsequent statement, a Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Public Transportation confirmed that bus service will commence at 9.00am today, and the Department of Marine and Ports Services is advising the Blue, Green and Pink ferry routes will begin service at 1.00pm today.
