Archers Continue CAC Games Qualifiers

Bermuda archers continued competing in the VIII Copa Merengue which is a W world ranking event and is the second qualifier tournament for the Central American and Caribbean Games.

Day three saw the individual eliminations rounds for men and women.

In the Recurve Men’s elimination first round, Bernard Wade III defeated Christian Stoddard from the Dominican Republic 6 – 4, Jaydon Roberts defeated Javier Vega from Cuba 6 – 0, and Camerin Pickering went down 6 – 4 to Kevin Perez from Venezuela.

In the Recurve Women’s elimination first round, Robin Selley fell 6 – 2 to Ruby Hirsch from the United States of America.

In the second round of the Men’s Recurve, Wade III fell 6 – 0 to Oscar Ticas from El Salvador, while Roberts went down 6 – 2 to Venugopal Kunnavakkam from the United States of America.

With the results, Roberts finished 13th, Wade III was 16th, and Pickering was 27th in the men’s division. Selley finished 25th in the women’s division.
