Two Vehicle Collision In Devonshire
[Updated] There was a two vehicle collision this afternoon [Sept 14] in the Middle Road, Orange Valley Road Devonshire area.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 4pm Wednesday, 14th September 2022, a serious two vehicle collision was reported in the Middle Road, Orange Valley Road Devonshire area, in the vicinity of Devonshire Post Office.
“Details are limited at this time. However, initial information indicates that the crash involved a SUV and a motorcycle.
“The male motorcycle rider has been taken to hospital via ambulance for treatment. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time. Apparently the female driver of the SUV was unhurt.
“Currently traffic headed west on Middle Road is being diverted along Tee Street, while traffic headed east on Middle Road is encouraged to take alternative routes until further notice.
“Motorists are advised to expect delays in the area while the scene is processed. A further update will be provided in due course. Any witnesses are encouraged to call 211 as soon as possible.”
Update 7.15pm: A police spokesperson said, “Traffic diversions are no longer in effect in the Middle Road, Orange Valley Road Devonshire area.
“Inquiries continue regarding the circumstances of this afternoon’s two vehicle collision near Devonshire Post Office and we await an update on the injured male motorcyclist’s medical condition.
“Any witnesses are once again encouraged to call 211 as soon as possible.”
