Green Family Donates $20,000 To BCHC
The Green family have made a $20,000 donation to the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre, who aim to raise $200,000 during this month’s Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.
Since 2012 the Green Family have made cumulative donations to the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre of just over $650K. Their recent donation will support the organization’s educational awareness and early detection programmes.
Alexander Green said: “We were moved to support the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre’s fundraising campaign, after reading news that identified a specific demographic of our population being affected by breast cancer.”
The Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre said that within the past three years that there were 217 reported cases of breast cancer on the island, with the majority of those cases impacting Black women.
“In a population as small as ours, this report concerned us. The BCHC has set a target to raise money that will go toward their equal access fund or free breast health education. We are grateful for their work in our community, said Alexander Green.
Lynne Woolridge, Chief Executive Officer at Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre, responded, “We are grateful to the Green family for their continuing and consistent support of our services and educational outreach. We appreciate that they swiftly reacted to our call for aid and are pleased with their continued philanthropic investment in Bermuda”.
The Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre’s ongoing mission is to provide the highest standard of radiation treatment support, care and education for cancer and other diseases to all.
The incredible generosity and philanthropy of the Greens strikes again !
