Mia Fishel Wins Mexican Golden Boot Award
Professional footballer Mia Fishel has won the Mexico Liga Mx Female Golden Boot Award.
Fishel is the first foreign-born player to win the Golden Boot in the history of Mexico’s Liga MX Femenil. The American-born player scored 17 goals en route to the award, including a brace in Tigres Femenil’s 5-2 win Tuesday to finish out the regular season.
“I would like to dedicate my achievement to my family, team, and management group for their everlasting support and belief in me,” Fishel wrote on Twitter. “The best is yet to come as we head into the Apertura 2022 playoffs and championship run. I have no doubt we are capable of securing a 5th championship!”
While Fishel was born in the United States she is also a Bermudian, she is a member of the well known Bascome family who have produced numerous sports stars in football and cricket.
