Road Closed Due To ‘Partial Collapse’
[Updated] “Due to a partial collapse of the roadway, Harrington Sound Road is closed to vehicular traffic from the junction with Paynters Road to the entrance of the government quarry,” the police said today [Oct 9].
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service wishes to advise the public that due to a partial collapse of the roadway, Harrington Sound Road is closed to vehicular traffic from the junction with Paynters Road to the entrance of the government quarry. Motorists are advised to take alternative routes to get to their destinations.”

Update 7.43pm: The Ministry of Public Works said “that there is an emergency road closure on Harrington Sound Road near Quarry entrance. A water leak has produced a road cavity and repairs need to take place. The full road closure will commence immediately on Sunday October 9th, 2022 for approximately two days for repairs to take place.”
