TROIKA Audition Dates For ‘Sarafina’ Musical

TROIKA Bermuda announced the audition dates for their upcoming Work in Progress #8 production of the Broadway Hit Musical ‘Sarafina!’

A spokesperson said, “Sarafina! is a South African musical by Mbongeni Ngema and Hugh Masakela depicting students involved in the Soweto Riots, in opposition to apartheid.

“TROIKA will be auditioning actors, singers, dancers, and musicians for the production. Open call auditions will take place November 4th, 5th, & 6th, 2022. Save the dates and stay tuned for further details regarding the auditions.

About the Work in Progress Program:

“Work In Progress is a youth arts project, which sources, nurtures, and showcases some of the best local talent in Bermuda. This unique project offers young people the opportunity to work in a professional theatre environment with a professional team who are engaged in all elements of performing arts. From auditions, workshops, rehearsals, publicity through to performances. Participants in this program receive free instruction and will undertake months of intensive rehearsals and workshops in voice, dance, and acting in preparation for the public performances of Work in Progress #8.

“Not only does TROIKA’s Work in Progress initiative create a successful production, the project also:

  • Provides extensive training to participants in all sectors of the arts.
  • Offers participants the unique opportunity to express themselves, explore and experience the arts while increasing their skills and self-esteem.
  • Increases cross-community contact, co-operation, and exchange.
  • Promotes cultural understanding through the arts.
  • Develops and showcases artistic talent.
  • Creates positive arts interaction between the youth in the community.
