BEDC To Host ‘Next Man Up’ Panel On Nov 17
As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week activities the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation [BEDC] will host the Next Man Up panel discussion on Thursday [Nov 17] from 5.30pm to 8.00pm at The Cloud.
A spokesperson said, “Next Man Up will be a space for men in entrepreneurship and men in business to come together, learn and grow as small business owners and CEO’s.
“The topics covered will include, work life balance, reconnecting networks post Covid, emerging opportunities and health & wellness. This is sure to be an exciting conversation with a panel of influential local men that have had success in business and are paving the way for the next generation of male entrepreneurs.
“Featured panellists include Marico Thomas of Four-Star Pizza and BSMG, Winston Godwin of Titan Tours, Nick Thomson, of Scooter Mart, Gilbert Darrell, of Horizon Communications and Fitzgerald Williams, of MASC Bermuda.”
Mr. Thomas said, “It is important to share experiences which may bring benefit to others. You can pay to learn, read a book, or learn from others, but there is no amount of money that you can pay that replaces experience. I have had many painful experiences that people should know to avoid.”
“It is time for men to come together to support each other and improve”, said Ray Lambert, BEDC MSME Director and project lead of Next Man Up. He continued, “For the last six years we have supported the Women in Entrepreneurship Day events that are focused on issues that women face, but rarely do we take the time to acknowledge that men also have challenges and need support and inspiration. The Next Man Up event is our opportunity to create a safe space for men to network and discuss issues that impact them directly. Our hope is that attendees will leave inspired and recharged.”
The spokesperson said, “In addition to great networking and discussion attendees will also be treated to canapés and, drinks. To register for this event, please log on to www.gew.bm. Registration is $35.”
