Protected Conservation Areas Notice 2022

The making of the Development and Planning [Fifth Schedule Amendment] Order 2022 by the Minister of Home Affairs on October 31, 2022 designated “Protected Conservation Areas” in two locations specified below.

Pursuant to section 25A[6] of the Development and Planning Act 1974, notice is hereby given that a map of each “Protected Conservation Area” may be inspected on the Department of Planning Customer Self Service Portal [https://planningenergov.gov.bm/EnerGov_Prod/SelfService#/home], or between the hours of 8:45am and 4:30pm during weekdays at the Department of Planning, 5th Floor, Dame Lois Browne Evans Building, 58 Court Street, Hamilton HM 12.

Southwestern area of former Riddell’s Bay Golf Course, Warwick [16.6 acres [725,038 feet] to West of Riddell’s Bay Road and North of the foreshore of Riddell’s Bay [excluding residential lots] including the Nothernmost island of Riddell’s Bay]

Purpose of Designation: To allow for the establishment and preservation of the land as a Nature Reserve in perpetuity wherein the land will be reserved principally for plants and habitats for local wildlife by restricting actions which can be carried out within the designated area as per A, E and F of the Fourth Schedule.
