Phillips Advances To J1 Bradenton Tournament
Daniel Phillips has qualified for the main draw of the J1 Bradenton Tennis Tournament in Florida.
Phillips had to win three matches in the qualifying stage to get to the main draw. In his first qualifying match, Phillips battled Rohan Belday from the United States, using a third set tie breaker to advance 6-2, 3-6, 10-6.
He next took on the qualifier’s number one seed, Gonzalo Zeitune from Argentina; Phillips advanced in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.
In his final qualifying match, Phillips took on Simon Mysilvec from the Czech Republic. Phillips needed another tie breaker to advance after winning the first set 6-1 and falling by the same score in the second set. In the third set tie breaker, Phillips found himself down 10-9, but battled back to win 12-10, advancing to the main draw.
