December 1, 2022

“In keeping with Bermuda’s National Jobs Strategy and Youth Employment Strategy, we must continue to engage with our hospitality stakeholders to ensure that the employment of Bermudians remains a priority,” said the Minister of Economy and Labour Jason Hayward in announcing that the 2nd Annual Hospitality Recruitment Drive will take place on December 14, 2022.

A Government spokesperson said, “The upcoming job fair is a partnership with the Department of Workforce Development, Bermuda Tourism Authority [BTA] and the Bermuda Hotel Association [BHA]. And all individuals interested in pursuing career opportunities in the hospitality /hotel industry for the upcoming 2023 season are invited to participate.”

Minister Hayward continued, “The Government will continue to work to ensure that Bermudians can take advantage of hospitality jobs. And I thank the participating hotels and restaurants who have partnered with the Government on this initiative. I’m encouraging all Bermudians seeking employment to attend next week’s employment recruitment event to learn more about the many career paths in the industry.”

Jakai Franks, BTA VP of Operations, added, “Tourism is not only a vital pillar for our economy, but it is a career path that can lead to great reward. I am a personal testament to this. I could not be more elated for the Bermuda Tourism Authority to once again partner with Work Force Development to showcase our hospitality industry while simultaneously equipping our local community with the tools they need for their journey towards a viable career.”

Tim Morrison, BHA President, said, “The BHA Hotels are delighted to host our second annual Hospitality Career Recruitment Drive, which this year also includes representatives from the Island’s restaurants. We, as a collective, are very excited to be able to highlight the various career opportunities available in the Bermuda hospitality industry.

“We encourage our community to stop by the Hamilton Princess on December 14, to discover how rewarding and dynamic a career in Hospitality can be. We are looking for talent in Culinary Arts, Front Office, Operational Management, Housekeeping, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Recreational Services, Spa and more.”

A spokesperson added, “The Recruitment Drive will take place inside the Princess Rooms at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club. Although registration is not required, we encourage interested persons to sign up online via the Bermuda Job Board at www.bermudajobboard.bm.”
