Football: Devonshire Cougars Defeat X-Roads
The Devonshire Cougars advanced to the Friendship Trophy first round following their 4 – 3 win over X-Roads in a preliminary round match at the Devonshire Recreation Club.
Devonshire Cougars went in front in the 14th minute through an own goal, but one minute later the score was level at 1 – 1 when Kahmori Brangman scored. The Devonshire Cougars went ahead 2 – 1 in the 27th minute when Elisha Darrell scored, but once again X-Roads were level in the 32nd minute when Brangman added his second goal of the game.
Domico Coddington found the back of the net in the 42nd minute to earn the Devonshire Cougars a 3 – 2 lead at the break.
Darrell extended the Devonshire Cougars lead to 4 – 2 when he scored his second goal of the game in the 52nd minute, but Chae Brangman pulled X-Roads within one when he scored in the 65th minute. Devonshire Cougars did enough to hold off the challenge and advance.
