Police Service Gives Back For Christmas
“In keeping with tradition, several watches and departments made Christmas extra special for a few members of the community,” the Bermuda Police Service said.
The Bermuda Police Service posted the photos below online, saying, “All of the holiday initiatives were funded by the officers, with some assistance from local businesses, who stepped up to the task, by providing additional items in support of the officers’ efforts.
“The officers of D’ Watch, East, came together to provide toys and food items to the families of the Gulfstream Transitional living Centre. They were assisted with donations, provided by Mr. Joe DeMello of Cost Cutters and the management of AM Bulk, Devils Hole.
“Ms. Lenneir Smith of the Bermuda Housing Corporation, assisted D’ Watch with facilitating the donation drop off.
“Be a part of the Christmas Miracle Hampers – Inspector Shakisha spearheaded the initiative, working closely with other staff members of the Bermuda Police Service including Tactical Unit, Intelligence Unit, Community Policing Division, with some assistance from Dunkley’s Dairy Ltd.
“The hampers were filled with non-perishable food items, household goods and toys.
“This is an annual initiative put together by Inspector Minors, to help make a few families’ lives a little easier and happier during the Holiday Season.
“In partnership with the Department of Child & Family Services [DCFS], the hampers were distributed to Bermuda Foster Care families and other DCFS clients.
“B Watch. Central, made the Holiday extra special for 3 students at three centrally located schools. The school councillors at each school, were asked to select a child they felt was the most deserving.
“Gifts were purchased by the Watch members for the student and members of their respective households.”
there was a time when the Police took a pride in their dress,look at them now,trousers that are way too long for them and looking like a sack tied up.
The COP needs to sort this out.
